Rams Hill Community Connection™
January,
2005
Hi everyone,
Well as per usual there is
plenty of news to share with you. It has been two months since the last
Community Connection email so there is some catching up to do.
News from the RHCA:
- Sewer Fee revisited: The
homeowners at Rams Hill are reminded of the importance of attending the next
Borrego Water District Board of Directors meeting. This meeting has Rams
Hill on the agenda regarding the special assessment of $17.14 per lot at
Rams Hill. The more people we have there representing Rams Hill, the
better. This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan 26 at 9am at the Water
District Office, 806 Palm Canyon Drive. Visit their website for more
information and for a complete agenda:
http://www.borregowd.org
- Exit Gate: The new homeowners' exit
gate is fully functional. Thank you Kerin for all that you did to make this
happen.
- Tree Trimming: The much needed
trimming of trees has been completed and the improvements are noticeable.
- Rodents: Reminder - Do NOT feed the
animals (including bird seed for the birds). This only attracts rodents to
the neighborhoods. See the RHCA website for further information.
Welcome to the
neighborhood:
- Maureen
Kirby & Joe Tatusko recently purchased their Santa Fe home at 3021
Roadrunner Dr from BJ Dennis who has relocated to the Roadrunner Club. When
not at Rams Hill, Maureen & Joe live at their home in the seaside community
of Pacific Beach. Welcome to Rams Hill !!
News from the Clubhouse:
- New Chef:
As you probably know by now Executive Chef Kevin Tucky has been hired for the
Dining Room and from all indications everyone is quite pleased with the
choice. Mr. Tucky has an impressive portfolio which
includes the Mirage and Treasure Island Resorts in Las Vegas. He served as
Mr. Steve Wynn's personal Chef at the Shadow Creek Golf Club. Stop by the
Clubhouse to meet Kevin and to enjoy his fine culinary creations.
- Member's
Appreciation Party: Every Friday this season at 3:00pm the Club is
hosting a Member's Appreciation Party. Members and guests are invited to join
the Club's Executive Team and The Wiles Group
http://www.thewilesgroup.com
for interesting conversation, light hors d'oeuvres and hosted wine and beer.
- Vino & Bistro
Night at the Club: Every Saturday evening the Clubhouse presents
Vino and Bistro Night. Cocktails begin at 5:00pm and dinner is served at
5:30pm. The prefix menu varies and sure to please, as well as the featured
wine. Preferred Member pricing is offered in the mixed grill and dining
room. Reservations only. Call the Clubhouse for details or visit the website
- Landscaping: The landscaping at the
Clubhouse is in full bloom and looks spectacular. And speaking of landscaping
- the grounds around the Rental Office have been transformed into a very
attractive desert garden. Outstanding job.
- Course Maintenance: The "budget for
the 2005 season," according to Michael Wiles and Jim Wanless, "has been
increased to be comparable to the level of quality of the finest clubs in the
southern California desert."
- Staffing:
According to Mark Cote, Course Superintendent, the grounds staff has been
doubled from 10 - 20.
- Golf Fees:
Gary Lynk at the Pro Shop reports that the reciprocal fee for a round of golf
is now at $150.00. All other fees remain the same.
- Sand bunkers:
The 2004 sand bunker re-nourishment program has been completed.
- Flag Poles:
New flag poles with reflective distance equipment have been placed on the golf
course at each green and on the driving range distance poles. New range balls
arrive this month.
- GPS system:
The old GPS distance system is being discontinued on the Club's fleet of golf
carts.
Letters from far
and near:
The following email was
received from homeowner David Smith (1905 Rams Hill Dr):
I'm currently deployed, we
departed San Diego the 6th of December, it was hard to leave Ivonne,
especially during Christmas. Due to security reasons I can't tell you
our current mission but recently we
were involved in helping out in providing
food and water to victims of the Tsunami. We were at sea when the
earth quake happened, our ship has a
lot of Helicopters, they became an essential
ingredient in the relief effort. This is my last Deployment, in a few
Months I will be flying home to San
Diego to get Ivonne, I'm finishing out my 32
year Naval Career at MCAS Beaufort South Carolina, sure do miss being
out in the desert, it's so peaceful,
I think of it often. Thanks for adding me to
the RHCA e-mail listing and Thank You [the
Board of Directors] for all you do in running the
Association, it's appreciated. R/Dave
Well that's it for this time around. If you
have any stories, memories of Rams Hill, tips etc to share with your neighbors
at Rams Hill in the Community Connection just drop me a line.
As news about future
developments at Rams Hill becomes available we will share it with you as soon
as possible.
Sincerely,
Pat McArron
