The Wiles Group Selects Gable-Cook-Schmid PR for $80 Million Rams Hill Golf Community Redevelopment in Borrego Springs, CA

The Wiles Group (TWG), project manager for the $80 million redevelopment of Rams Hill which will turn Borrego Springs into one of the finest golf course communities in the west, has selected Gable-Cook-Schmid Public Relations (GCS) of San Diego as its agency of record, citing its extensive experience in developing successful programs for real estate development, land use and golf clients.

BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (PRWEB) June 8, 2005 -- The Wiles Group (TWG), project manager for the $80 million redevelopment of Rams Hill, which will turn Borrego Springs into one of the finest golf course communities in the west, has selected Gable-Cook-Schmid Public Relations (GCS) of San Diego, Calif. as its agency of record.

Michael Wiles, president of TWG, said GCS was selected because of its extensive experience in developing successful programs for real estate development, land use and golf clients.

"Rams Hill is underway with a major redevelopment plan for our 3,500-acre community, including a new Tom Fazio golf course, new clubhouse, health club and spa and landscaping throughout the community," said Wiles. "We have complex communications needs and GCS has the proven abilities with major clients to support Rams Hill in this major evolution."

Tom Gable, CEO of GCS, will manage the program. He has worked on programs for TaylorMade Golf, Nike Golf, The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, Santaluz and many residential developers, including the Irvine Company, Pardee and Lennar Corp. He said the GCS team was impressed from the minute they were first introduced to the TWG plans to transform Rams Hill into a prime destination for golfers, including those who travel the U.S. in search of unique experiences.

"I'm a native Southern Californian, know the area well and believe they are creating a community that complements both the small-town character of Borrego Springs and the natural beauty of the surrounding De Anza Borrego State Park," Gable said. "The combination - the desert, the golf, the beauty, the serenity - will create an unequalled experience."

The first stage in the redevelopment is a new golf course by Tom Fazio, named as America's best modern day golf course architect by many critics and in media polls. Fazio has been quoted in the media as saying "Rams Hill will have the strength and character to make it among the best courses in the world."  The next stage will be development of a new 33,000-square-foot club house,

The Rams Hill master planned community is located on Yaqui Pass Road (County Road S-3), less than a two- hour drive from San Diego International Airport through some of the region's most spectacular mountain and desert scenery. More than half of the 3,500 acres of Rams Hill will be dedicated to open space, which complements the nature of the surrounding De Anza Borrego State Park and the small town character of Borrego Springs.
